Laborists/Midwives

Highland Medical laborists and midwives are a part of the birthing team in place at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. While you may not see these clinicians in the office as part of your prenatal care, they are part of the Highland Medical team and will work closely with your doctor to coordinate and deliver the best care for you and your baby.

Dennis Domosi, MD, FACOG

Dennis Domosi, MD, FACOG is a board-certified   Obstetrician and Gynecologist with Highland Medical. He provides care to patients on the labor and delivery floor at Montefiore Nyack Hospital as a hospital laborist. Prior to joining Highland Medical, Dr. Domosi was a part of the clinical team at the Hudson Center for Women’s Health in Nyack, NY which joined Highland Medical in June of 2022.

 Dr. Domosi received his medical doctorate from The University of Rome in Rome, Italy. He completed his internship at St. Clare’s Hospital and Health center in NYC, NY in general surgery and his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Staten Island, NY and St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ.

Dr. Domosi an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He is fluent in English, Italian, Hungarian and medical Spanish. In his free time he enjoys music, theater, opera and family. 

Teresa Berardi, PA

Teresa Berardi is a board-certified Physician Assistant with Highland Medical. She provides care at Montefiore Nyack Hospital on the labor and delivery floor. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University in Queens, NY, She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Ms. Berardi comes to Highland Medical with over 25 years of experience as a physician assistant providing obstetric and gynecologic care and specializing in IVF. Prior to joining Highland Medical, Ms. Berardi worked as a physician assistant with WestMed Medical Group in Purchase, NY and Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY.

Nicole Chen, RN, CNM, OB-GYN NP

Nicole Chen, MSN, RN, CNM, OB/GYN NP, CLC is Assistant Director of Midwifery with Highland Medical. She provides comprehensive prenatal, obstetric and postpartum care to patients with clinical experience as a certified nurse midwife at Montefiore Nyack Hospital and Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She also practiced midwifery at Village Maternity in New York City and Brooklyn Birthing Center in Midwood, NY. Nicole received her Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery from New York University. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at CUNY Herbert H. Lehman College in Bronx, NY. 

Kellie Leveille, CNM, NP-C

Kellie Leveille is board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwife with Highland Medical. She provides comprehensive prenatal, obstetric, and postpartum care to patients at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Prior to Highland Medical, Kellie served in the US Army and practiced as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in public health settings.

She received her Advanced Certificate in Midwifery from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She earned her MSN- Nursing from the college of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, NY and her BSN- Nursing at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Delfina Margalli, RN, CNM, DNP

Delfina Margalli is a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse midwife with Highland Medical. She provides care to patients on the labor and delivery floor at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. She has over 25 years of nursing experience on labor and delivery units caring for high risk and low risk antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum mothers.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony brook, NY and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Midwifery at Columbia University, School of Nursing in New York, NY. She has received the Clinical Excellence Award and was an Associate Fellow where she served as a mentor/preceptor for new graduates entering Labor and Delivery at North Shore/LIJ-Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY.

 Delfina is a certified lactation counselor and certified in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing, Maternal Newborn Nursing and Electronic Fetal Monitoring.  In her free time she enjoys traveling and cooking and has a particular interest in alternative medicine.

Theresa Rispoli, RN, CNM

 Theresa Rispoli is a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse midwife with Highland Medical. She provides care to patients on the labor and delivery floor at Montefiore Nyack hospital. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ and her certificate of Midwifery at Northern District College of Nursing and Midwifery in Glasgow, Scotland. Risa has over 40 years of experience with full-scope GYN care, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and interconception care in high and low-risk populations.

Risa is passionate about ensuring that women preparing for childbirth are knowledgeable and given the most up-to-date information to guide them through what she hopes will be a wonderful experience for them. She also strives to assist women in remaining diligent about their everyday health and wellness. In her free time, she enjoys reading, live music, trivia, travel and cruises.
 

Arielle Sooknanan, RN, CNM

Arielle C. Sooknanan, RN, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife with Highland Medical. She has worked in hospital, sub-acute and primary healthcare settings. Prior to Highland Medical, Arielle gained clinical nursing experience as a midwife in New York City and Connecticut, where she worked at Park Slope Midwives in Brooklyn and Central Park South OBGYN in Manhattan; as well as Connecticut Childbirth and Women’s Center in Danbury, CT; and Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.  She also worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery and a prenatal and pediatric nurse at Hudson River Health Care, Inc. (HRH Care) in Yonkers, NY.

Arielle received her Master’s Degree in Nurse Midwifery from SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. She also has a Bachelor of Health Science degree from SUNY Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY. Arielle is certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Infection Control.
