Brijender Pal Batra, MD

Dr.BatraBrijender Batra, MD is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pulmonologist. His board certifications include Internal, pulmonary, and sleep medicine. Dr. Batra has been providing care to patients in a private practice setting for over 30 years. As of November 2022, he has joined Highland Medical, Pulmonary Medicine Associates.

Dr. Batra earned his medical doctorate from HP Medical College (now Indira Gandhi Medical College) in India. After completing part of his residency in India, he traveled to the United States where he was a surgery resident at Flushing Hospital and medical Center in Flushing, NY. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Batra was fellowship-trained in pulmonary medicine at Brooklyn Hospital Center affiliated with the State of New York, Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He is fluent in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi and enjoys reading and traveling.

David L. Hodes, MD

Dr.DavidDr. Hodes is a board-certified physician with subspecialties in critical care and pulmonary disease and practices at Palisades Primary Care and Pulmonary Medicine, in West Nyack. He engenders trust and confidence by demonstrating compassion and empathy in the delivery of his care. He is sensitive to his patients’ psychological well-being and identifies with the emotional concerns of his patients and their family members.

Dr. Hodes is Attending Physician in Pulmonary Diseases and Internal Medicine at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. He has received numerous awards, including: New York Magazine “Best Doctors in New York” (2000, 2001); Castle Connolly Top Doctors (2000 – 2015); and The Arnold P. Gold Foundation Award for Medical Humanism.

Dr. Hodes received his medical doctorate from New York University Medical School, New York, NY. He completed his Internship and Residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York, NY, and his Pulmonary Fellowship at New York University-Bellevue Hospital.

Neil Shinder, MD, FCCP

Dr.NeilNeil Shinder, MD, FCCP is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary and sleep medicine and critical care. He has been serving the Rockland County community for nearly two decades. he will be practicing internal medicine, pulmonary and sleep medicine at Palisades Primary Care and Pulmonary Medicine in West Nyack, NY. Dr. Shinder was the past Medical Director of the Edythe Kurz Center for Sleep Medicine at Montefiore Nyack Hospital.

Dr. Shinder received his medical degree from McGill University in Quebec, Canada. He completed his internal medicine training at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada and went on to complete a fellowship in pulmonary and sleep medicine at Queen's University in Ontario, Canada. He completed a second fellowship at the New York Hospital -Cornell Medical Center in pulmonary medicine where he further trained in sleep medicine.

Dr. Shinder's professional affiliations include the American College of Chest Physicians and American Sleep Disorders Association.

Lorraine Olivero, DNP, FNP-BC

Dr.OliveroLorraine Olivero, DNP, FNP-BC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Highland Medical, Palisades Primary Care and Pulmonary Medicine in West Nyack, NY.

Dr. Olivero was part of the first cohort of primary care practitioners to receive her D.N.P (Doctor of Nursing Practice). This clinical degree addresses the need of a well-rounded primary care practitioner with a deep understanding of preventative and functional medicine that addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Dr. Olivero received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Columbia University School of Nursing in New York, NY and her Master of Science, as a Family Nurse Practitioner, from Pace University, in Pleasantville, NY.

Prior to her current position with Highland Medical, Dr. Olivero was an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Columbia University, as well as the Clinical Director of the Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. A medically published researcher in her field, she has authored and co-authored a number of scientific papers focused on obesity and weight loss surgery.

Dr. Olivero completed her Residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center in the following divisions: Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery; the Combined Divisions of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; and Neuroendocrinology Weight Control Center.

Dr. Olivero’s clinical research interests include obesity; bariatric surgery; functional medicine; holistic medicine, herbal medicine; weight loss; energy medicine; gut hormones, aesthetic medicine; wellness; and nutrition.
